J.B.SHAH GIRLS (P.G.) College was established by “Madan Lal Shah Educational Society” in 1982. At present Smt. Mohari Devi Shah Charitable Trust is running the Institute. The college is under the aegis of the University of Rajasthan and is governed by the extant rules and regulations of education department of the local state government. The college was established by the patriarch Sh. Madan Lal Shah, (a retired lawyer) to promote women education in rural semi urban areas in and around Jhunjhunu. Initially the college begun as an undergraduate college, but upgraded to post graduate level in 1989. The college got its registration under sec 12B - 2F of the UGC act of the years 1989 and 1998 respectively.
